Five Things Worth Knowing Today: Dine Out, Support Local Theater

School Vacation Carnival: The Wakefield Center Neighborhood Association has their annual School Vacation Carnival this week, starting 6 p.m. Tuesday and running through Saturday evening in the Galvin Middle School parking lot. Click here for more information.

Local Theater Fundraiser: You can help support the Wakefield Repertory Theatre just by dining at the Chili’s on 70 Walkersbrook Drive in Reading on Monday, April 15th and Tuesday, April 16th, for both dine in and carry out. A portion of your check will go to the WRT and their production of “Lucky Stiff,” which opened this past weekend. You'll need to print out and bring the voucher that's attached to this article.

April Vacation Program: Also for April vacation, the Beebe Library is having the handlers and their animals from Curious Creatures drop by Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. Registration is required – click here to sign up. Thursday at 10 a.m., the library welcomes Sparkey's Puppets for Aesop's Fables.

Lucky Stiff: There’s still time to check out the Wakefield Repertory Theatre’s production of “Lucky Stiff” this upcoming weekend. Productions are set for this Friday and Saturday evening at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets are $18 for adults and $16 for seniors and students. Blood Drive: The Red Cross has announced its next blood drive in the local area will be today from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Wakefield/Lynnfield United Methodist Church on 273 Vernon Street, Wakefield.
