Five Things: Making Strides, Food Drive and a Gardening Talk

WHS Presents Aida: Next weekend, Wakefield High School contnues its production of Tim Rice and Elton John’s version of “Aida” The coming weekend’s showtimes are 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 11th and 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 12th. For ticket information, click here.

Starting Your Garden: Tonight at 7 p.m., Gretel Anspach, past president of the Massachusetts Master Gardeners Association, will be at the Beebe Library in downtown Wakefield for a presentation on “Starting Your Garden From Seeds.

Making Strides: Coming up this Saturday, May 11th with a 9:30 a.m. registration time, it’s Wakefield’s annual Making Strides Walk for Cystic Fibrosis at the gazebo on the lower common, with the walk going around Lake Quannapowitt. Click here for more information.

Food Donations: Do you have some nonperishable food items you can donate to the Wakefield Interfaith Food Pantry? Coming up on Saturday, May 11th, it’s the annual Letter Carriers Food Drive. Town residents can leave non-perishable foot items by their mailbox and letter carriers will pick it up while doing their postal routes. Click here for more information.

PAWS at Lynnfield Library: Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Lynnfield Library, members of local animal rescue nonprofit PAWS will be there for a “Be Kind to Animals Pajama Party,” featuring stories about dogs and cats, and possibly what the library describes as “a very special furry guest.” Light refreshments served, no registration required.
