Best Place for Sporting Goods in Wakefield: Ski & Sport Shack

The Ski & Sport Shack is who Wakefield residents turn to for sporting goods, according to your votes.

The place most Wakefield residents go for their sporting goods is the Ski & Sport Shack,

Out of 16 votes in our poll, the Ski and Sport Shack netted 11, or 68 percent of the votes.

The Winner
So what if it's the only sporting goods store in town? It's also the best. The Ski & Sport Shack is a small, locally company located in the square on Main Street that sells ski, snowboard and skateboarding gear.

The owners started sharpening skis and setting bindings back in 1971 and have since expanded into a full service sun and ski shop with alpine skis, snowboards, long boards and normal skate boards, plus clothing and accessories for each of these endeavors.

"The best ski/snowboard/skate shop around," wrote reader Matt Perry in a review. "The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and always happy to help the customers."

The next highest vote-getter was in Reading, which got 3 votes, or 18 percent of the vote. in Reading and in Stoneham received two votes each, for 6 percent of the vote.
