5 Things: Last Chance to Vote in April Election on Wednesday

Five things worth knowing today, April 2, 2012, in Wakefield, MA.

1. Possible rain - There's a 30 percent chance of rain today. Otherwise, it will be partly sunny and around 54 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

2. Today in Wakefield sports - Boys varsity baseball scrimmages Malden at 3:30 p.m. @ Malden, and girls varsity softball scrimmages Central Catholic High School at 3:30 p.m. at home.

3. Vote for the Best Place to Do Your Taxes -  This week, we're running a new Readers' Choice contest: Best Place to Do Your Taxes. Make sure you vote in the poll, leave a review and leave a comment. They all count towards calculating the winner. .

4. Get rid of your old clothes for a good cause - The Big Brother Big Sister Foundation is in need of the public's support through donations of lightly used clothing and small household items. While you clean out your closets, consider donating your lightly worn clothing to the Big Brother Big Sister Foundation. The foundation will be collecting donations door to door in Wakefield on Monday April 9th. To schedule a free curbside pick up, please call 1-800-483-5503 or email donate@bbbsfoundation.org.

5. Last chance - If you want the opportunity to cast your vote in th April 24th town election, and the annual spring town meeting, you must register to vote by Wednesday, April 4.  The Town Clerk’s Office wil be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Town Hall on Wednesday.
