Finding a Balance in life!

Now that summer is coming to an end, more responsibilities and programs will be added on to your already busy schedule. It's all about finding that balance to do everything you want to do in life.

Now that summer is coming to an end, more responsibilities and programs will be added on to your already busy schedule. It’s all about finding that balance to do everything you want to do in life.  Whether it be karate, soccer or working out, or even family, life does not revolve around one thing.   If you want to be great at a certain sport or karate, go to your regularly scheduled practice; that time is specifically allotted for you to practice that certain thing. We must schedule time just like we schedule Doctor appointments. Time for homework, activities, friends, etc.   I am a firm believer in schedules. After those "appointments" are made you must keep them.  This is the most important thing of all, because you doing your homework means good grades…and everyone loves good grades! When all of the important stuff is done, make time for friends.  Now I am not saying that you cant be spontaneous either, just find the balance!

Finding a balance with everything is important! It’s important because you never want to feel like one thing in your life controls everything you do! The only thing that controls you is you.  Don't take on too much, if you feel overwhelmed take a step back and re-evaluate.  Martial arts teaches us exercises of the  mind and body and coping skills.  I see so many children and adults who have very little if any, coping mechanisms.   Martial arts is also a great outlet for over energized kids and also for those who need a little push in life.    Although sometimes it feels like there isn’t enough time in the day, to get it all done, and you may not, but guess what? Tomorrow is a new day!  So find that balance for the things you love, and even the things you don’t love - it builds character!  As always, any questions or comments email Sensei Janice at cervizzis@aol.com -
