Where to Buy a Ticket as Jackpot Grows Toward One of Largest Ever

Wednesday night's Powerball jackpot will be one of the largest in history.

It feels like just yesterday that we were all giddy about a $450 million Powerball jackpot.

A little more than a month later, there's again a top lottery prize up for grabs. Wednesday night's Powerball jackpot is estimated at $400 million, making it the fifth-largest lottery jackpot in United States history. All four of the other, higher jackpots have come in the past two years.

If nobody wins on Wednesday night, it is likely that Saturday night's drawing could approach a record amount. May's $590 million jackpot ballooned from $363 million in the drawing three days earlier.
