JP Licks, a chain of ice cream shops headquartered in Jamaica Plain, will open three new locations in the Boston area soon, including one in Lynnfield.
This week, Rockland Trust announced $4.5 million in refinancing to help the company expand in Lynnfield, as well as Back Bay and Somerville. According to the announcements, JP Licks was established in 1981 and currently has 11 locations.
The company has also received a number of awards for its ice cream, as noted on its website.
“Rockland Trust is excited to support the expansion of J.P. Licks,” said Michael Lindberg, First Vice President and Commercial Lending Center Manager at Rockland Trust. “This company is a beloved local institution in the Greater Boston area that is committed to serving both its customers and the community.
The company has yet to indicate whether its Lynnfield location will be part of the new Market Street development, which has already announced a handful of the large tenants, including Whole Foods and Davio's, that will be on hand for its expected opening next year.
