Hilltop Steakhouse Cows Have New Home in Lynnfield

You can now find them grazing at MarketStreet Lynnfield and they are going to host an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday.

Remember the iconic cows featured in front of the former Hilltop Steakhouse on Rte. 1? Well they have a new home. MarketStreet Lynnfield representatives say the outdoor shopping destination has adopted three of the cows. The MarketStreet Cows, a mother and her two calves, can be found grazing at MarketSquare and will be neighbors to MarketStreet Lynnfield’s 50 stores and restaurants.

The cows will will co-host MarketStreet events and you can follow them for news and insights via the Twitter handle @StyleMoos, on Facebook, and Instagram.

The fiberglass MarketStreet Cows were formerly found at the legendary Hilltop Steakhouse in Saugus, which closed this past fall. In preparation for their unveling at MarketStreet, the three cows underwent extensive cosmetic surgery and will now be on display year-round, and hosting celebratory events, according to a statement from MarketStreet.

“We loved what a fun and time-honored New England landmark the cows were at Hilltop and we are always seeking ways to make the MarketStreet Lynnfield experience a unique one for the community; the cows perfectly fulfill this over-arching goal. We're delighted for our visitors to enjoy them,” said Laurel Sibert, vice oresident of Corporate Marketing with WS Development, which co-developed and manages MarketStreet Lynnfield.

The MarketStreet Cows are hosting their first event - an Easter Egg Hunt - this Saturday April 12 at 10 a.m. taking place on The Green. The cows, wearing bunny ears this week, will be hiding a few golden eggs containing special prizes. The event will also include a Lively Kids fashion show and pictures with the Easter Bunny. The Easter Egg Hunt is for children ages 1 to 10 and requires a $1 donation to benefit the Lynnfield Recreation Commission. Advanced registration is recommended. You can register on MarketStreet's website
