Create 'Art You Wear' At New Wakefield Business

Kimberly Bertocchi opened Razzle this month on Albion Street, giving kids and others a place to create fabric artworks.

A new Wakefield business is giving kids and families a chance to enjoy time creating "art you wear.”

Razzle, located at 18 Albion Street, features a selection of fabric items, such as hats, bags, t-shirts, pillow cases, canvas notebooks, and more that people can decorate with fabric paint and stencils.

Owner Kimberly Bertocchi said in a recent conversation with Wakefield Patch that she got the idea for her first business one year when her young daughter wanted to do fabric painting for her birthday party. She also used to do arts and crafts with her kids and has long been interested in having a business with a focus on kids.

Before opening Razzle, Bertocchi, a Saugus resident, worked in retail management for Spencer Gifts and has also worked in the beauty industry. She said that she worked on the details for Razzle over the past several years, such as lining up the right vendors and testing paints for color and quality with help from friends and family.

The business opened in early October and welcomes birthday parties as well as “Dolly and Me” parties where kids can make a matching doll-sized t-shirt along with their own, with similar arrangements for plush dinosaurs and gorillas.
