Wakefield Actress Among Stars in Play This Weekend

Actress Kadian Clarke has lived in Wakefield for six years. This upcoming weekend, you can see her in "All Stories Are True" in Walpole.

Actress Kadian Clarke, a Wakefield resident, has worked since the age of 14 in print, voice, TV and film, with the goal of someday landing a role on a television series. This weekend at the Blackburn Memorial Hall in Walpole, she’s among the stars of “All Stories Are True: An Evening of One-Act Plays.”

Performances are this Saturday evening August 10 at 7 p.m. and on Sunday August 11 at 6 p.m.. Clarke is starring in two of the plays. The Blackburn Memorial Hall is at 135 School Street and tickets are $10 at the door, $8 for students and seniors.

Clarke, who first moved to Wakefield six years ago, started modeling at the age of 14 and later completed law school before starting her present career. One of her favorite roles so far has been in a TV commercial for “Smooth Away” although at any given time her work can have her doing anything from corporate training videos to voiceovers to print ads. She also has a couple of recent film credits, having appeared in That’s My Boy (2012) and Blessid (2013). “I spend most of my time going to auditions,” said Clarke, adding that she also loves to dance and enjoys going to karaoke.

A look at her resume shows a number of well-known companies she has done commercials or print work for, including Hannaford, Sal’s Pizza, Fidelity, and People’s Bank, among others.

Since her initial conversation with Wakefield Patch, Clarke also reported that she was booked for a new commercial print advertisement for a major healthcare company, and as an actor/voiceover person in a mobile device video.

Regarding this weekend’s play, Clarke said that one thing that stands out about live acting is that there are no re-takes. This will actually be the first time she’s appeared in a play since she was young and this will be her first time acting in plays with a starring role.

Looking ahead, Clarke hopes to eventually land a role on a television show – and would especially love to portray a lawyer. To learn more about Kadian Clarke and her work, check out her website here
