'The Voice' Recap: Wakefield's Massone Sent Home

The singer from Wakefield performed on live television on Monday night, but was sent home by his coach during instant eliminations.

Wakefield's Massone was instantly eliminated on Monday night's episode of "The Voice," by his coach, Cee Lo Green, ending his chance of becoming the show's ultimate winner.

On Monday night's episode, Massone sang Billy Joel's "Just the Way You Are," another attempt to impress the female population. However, it didn't go over as well with the coaches as his last appearance.

"I've been a big fan of yours from the beginning, but I just don't know," said coach Blake Shelton. "You sang that song great, I just don't know how I feel about it."

Coach Christina Aguilera said she agreed with Shelton.

"I think you have a special voice, but I think last week you came out here ...and got the ladies' attention and Cee Lo played into that ths week, but I think for me personally I would have wanted something a little different, because i felt like that was what happened last week. But it sounded good."

However, Green disagreed with the other coaches.

"I enjoyed it," he said. "I think your voice is so genuine and so sweet and soft, and it’s natural do what comes natural to you," he said. "If the woman are your audience then reciprocate that love and give it right back. I enjoyed your performance."

But during the show's nail-biting ending, Green utlimately chose to eliminate Massone out of his remaining four contestants.

"I've got to send my boy James Massone home," he said.

Massone and Green embraced several times, and Massone said he learned "so much" from Green.

"I never would have picked those songs," he said. "I love you like an uncle."
