Join Wakefield Repertory Theatre on September 21, 22, 28 and 29 at 8:00pm and September 23 & 30 at 3 pm for “Bye Bye Birdie”, one of the most captivating musical shows of our time. It tells the story of a rock and roll singer who is about to be inducted into the army. The singer, Conrad Birdie, an Elvis Presley type, will bid a typical American teen-age girl goodbye with an all-American kiss.  His visit to Sweet Apple, Ohio and the home of Kim MacAfee and her family, throws both the family and the town into turmoil.  The show features a number of well-known songs, including “Put on a Happy Face” and gives an insight into the everyday life that is very much part of us all.

The show will be presented at Wakefield-Lynnfield United Methodist Church, 273 Vernon Street, Wakefield and features local teens and adults including Wakefield residents Emily Cierpial as Debra Sue and Hannah DiTonno as Suzie.  Tickets are $18.00 Adult; $16.00 Student/Senior and can be purchased online at http://www.ticketstage.com/WRT or by calling (781) 245-1173.
