The Linden Tree Coffeehouse is pleased to present The Jammin’ Divas on Saturday, April 6th at 8 pm.  The Jammin Divas are Aoife Clancy (IRE) Grammy Nominee with Cherish the Ladies, Becky Chace (USA), and Kath Buckell (AUS).

Linden Tree Coffeehouse audiences have heard Aoife and Kath in past solo performances. Together, with Becky, they blend stunning renditions of traditional and contemporary original folk music and elements of improvisation from each of their cultures featuring stunning three part harmonies against plush melodies.

The audience is drawn into an experience that transcends three continents history by sharing songs and stories of how each country culturally influence and enrich one another. www.jammindivas.com The three women include Aoife Clancy from Ireland, who is the daughter of Bobby Clancy of the Clancy Brothers.  While she was with Cherish the Ladies, the group was nominated for a Grammy Award.  Aoife has had a long-standing career touring with the likes of The Clancy Brothers, Christy Moore of the Furey Brothers, Tommy Sands and many others.  She also toured seven weeks with the renowned Paddy Noonan Show. In 1995, Aoife was asked to join the acclaimed group “Cherish the Ladies”, which is one of the most sought-after Irish American groups in history. For the past four years, Aoife has toured extensively doing no less than two hundred dates a year throughout the United States and Europe. She has been a featured soloist with orchestras such as the Boston Pops and Cincinnati Pops and, while performing with Cherish the Ladies, collaborated with the Boston Pops on their GRAMMY nominated Celtic album. Now with seven recordings under her belt in the last decade, Aoife has clearly established herself as one of the 'Divas' of Irish and contemporary Folk Music.

Anyone who has seen Becky Chace sing in any setting knows she delivers with passion and conviction every time she takes a stage. Chosen Best Female Vocalist 5 times by the readers of the Providence Phoenix Best Music Poll, Becky has been called "one of the most celebrated singer/songwriters to come out of the RI area." by Motif Magazine. Together with her band, Chace has opened for such national acts as BB King, America, Judy Collins, Littlefeat, and Delbert McClinton.   "With her smoky voice and blues-laden guitar, Providence's Becky Chace is a steamy cauldron of music, purveying the sort of countrified roots/folk rock that hits with a gritty, earthy edge. She's a singer-songwriter who transcends a number of genres, pulling together common threads into solid music that commands a listeners' attention."  Worcester Telegram  The Australian counterpart Kath Buckell is a rising Folk/Rock artist in the USA receiving airplay in the US, Australia, Canada, Netherlands, Germany and the UK.From her roots in a small Australian country town, talented singer-songwriter Kath Buckell captivates audiences wherever she travels.  She connects to her audience with her heartful stories of life and love.  Her distinctive style draws upon many musical traditions, seamlessly fusing folk, traditional Irish and country with the exotic sounds of the Middle East.  She has toured from Australia, Israel and now the USA and has found her roots in a project that is preserving traditional Australian poetry put to her original music.

This new CD, called Faces Do Not Change was produced by Daniel Jakubovic, who has produced music of Paul Simon, Bette Midler, and Carly Simon and has received high praise and several songwriting awards.
