Sacagawea: Beautiful, Brave and Ready to make History

My name is Sacagawea, and my days exploring in the wild are over.  Like my namesake, the brave, pregnant, Shoshone girl who guided Lewis and Clark on their expedition, I was quite the outdoors woman, giving birth in a backyard and evading my trappers for two months. But now that I am in a PAWS foster home, with all the comforts that brings, I realize that the indoor life is the one for me.

So, you may ask, what’s so great about staying inside? First of all, I love all the cool toys, especially the ones with catnip and anything that rolls. And, of course, I love the people who toss the balls and play with me. I also thoroughly enjoy it when they pat me and hold me. Safe inside, I get to be cuddled and adored, and have a warm place to curl up with my humans at night. When no one is available to play with me, I am content to gaze out the window from the safety of my foster home. For me, that is like watching television.

I had four beautiful kittens, but only one, Mae Jemison, is still with me. She reminds me of myself because this little black beauty is adorable, gentle, sweet and playful. I would love to have some feline company in my new home. If you don’t already have a cat, you should definitely consider adopting both of us. Of course, you can decide once you meet us. But, I can guarantee that we will be hard to resist. We are amazing!

So, what are you waiting for? It’s time for us to start a new chapter…and maybe you and I (and little Mae, too) can make our own history, together.
