Mumtaz is a Declawed Siamese Who Wants to Celebrate the New Year with You

Mumtaz is a beautiful Siamese cat.

Meowee.  Did you hear me?  I want to talk to you!  My name is Mumtaz and I am trying to have a conversation.  I am a Siamese, so I really do want to talk.  We do that.  But we are also very balanced cats.  We are not shrill, we are not crazy, and we like people.  I love people.  I had the same owner for 13 years until she got too old to care for me.  I miss her.  But I am trying to be realistic.  I can’t be with her, so I need to find a new home.  Did you hear me?  I am talking to you.  Meoooow, Mrumph.

Let me tell you a bit more about me. I am a purebred, Applehead, Siamese cat.  I am like the cat that came to this country from Siam, as a present from the king.  I am the real royalty as you must realize since I have the same name as the queen for whom the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan erected the Taj Mahal.  I do not, however, need a jewel incrusted palace, or even a throne.  I just need you and your love.

And you will love me because I am beautiful, mature and mellow.  I like to sleep in the sun or in a warm place like on the radiator.  I like to talk, but I can also listen.  And nothing pleases me more than a nice warm lap.  I would be delighted to find a nice mature person or people like me.  I have had no experience with other cats or animals, so I should probably be your only pet.  I think I could be respectful of children if they were nice to me.  Mainly, I want you to know that I have been through a lot, including separation from my loved ones and introduction into a very different environment here at PetSmart.  So, can you be patient with me when we meet?  I am going to be a bit hesitant and shy around you.  But I promise that if you adopt me and take me home, I am going to be so grateful that I’m sure we will become close buddies.

By the way, you do not need to build me a Taj Mahal or even offer me a throne.  I will be delighted to just have a place on your hearth (ok radiator).   I have too many good years left to get stuck here in a window at PetSmart.  I want to climb out of this window and into your warm lap.   And rest assured, when I climb into your lap, I will be feeling love and joy toward you.  And not just because ‘tis the season.  No, because I really want a new home.  So come and meet me and we can be together to celebrate New Year’s Eve, the new year, and our new life together.  Yes, I want a new forever home.  And this time, please let it really be forever.
