High Wind Watch In Effect Until Thursday

National Weather Service warns that gusts up to 43 mph could hit region tonight and Thursday.

A high wind watch is in effect for the region from Wednesday night through Thursday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

The advisory extends from Southeastern Mass. And Cape Cod and the islands up through Eastern Essex County.

A National Weather Service forecast for Lynnfield finds winds gusts as high as 20 mph could blow through the area Wednesday afternoon. Later tonight, winds could gust as high as 44 mph, with a 100% chance of precipitation – most likely a mix of rain and snow.

Thursday morning is expected to see rain and patchy fog before 1 p.m., with foggy conditions returning after 5 p.m. and winds that could once again gust as high as 43 mph during the day. Thursday night’s forecast calls for rain and snow before skies begin to clear heading into Friday.
