WMGLD Accepts Payments Online

Wakefield Municipal Gas & Light Department (WMGLD) customers can conveniently pay their bill online on the department’s website www.wmgld.com. Payments can be made by using Visa, MasterCard or Discover, or a debit card with credit card capabilities.

The WMGLD online payment option, introduced in August 2011, also allows customers to view their account information, including usage and payment history, as well as request the department’s paperless bill option.

Customers can also use credit cards when making their payments at the WMGLD office or by phone, and when setting up automatic payments.

Although the credit card payment option is convenient and easy to use, it is only one of the many ways customers can pay their bill each month, according to General Manager Pete Dion. The popular direct payment option is still available, and payments can also be made by check or money order when making payments by mail or in person.

Payments can be made in person at the WMGLD’s 480 North Avenue facility during business hours, or they can be put in the overnight box in front of the facility when the office is closed. Payments can also be made at all offices of The Savings Bank or deposited in the WMGLD’s offsite pick-up box on Smith Street in downtown Wakefield.
