Wakefield Rotary Makes Local Donations

The Rotary Club of Wakefield is happy to announce two donations to the local Wakefield community. The club received a request for financial assistance from the Interfaith Food Pantry for some logistical equipment, and the club responded with a $500 donation. Interfaith Food Pantry Board member Judy Gordon was on hand to receive the donation. Gordon commented, “It’s a relief to know that we can buy these new supplies. It’ll help us continue to serve the Wakefield community.” In addition, the Rotary Club donated $1,000 to the Wakefield Police K-9 fund for the upkeep of the police unit. Police Chief Rick Smith received the donation this week and noted, “The Rotary’s commitment to our K-9 unit has a long history, going back to when we first developed the unit. The department is very grateful that the club continues to support us and help with the costs associated with our K-9 unit.”
