FOLQ Art Show -- Friday Nov 8, 9-6 p.m. at the Americal Civic Center

The public is invited this Friday, to attend the showing of the prizewinning photos, paintings and crafts that our own Lake Quannapowitt has inspired. “Quannapowitt Images 2013” is a community art show comprised of photography, crafts and original artwork that features our lake and in its surroundings. It all happens this Friday evening, November 8 in the Heritage Room at the Americal Civic Center, 467 Main Street from 6 to 9 p.m.

The organizers (Friends of Lake Quannapowitt) and the participants of the show are excited by the response of local artists and photographers, both professional and amateur. The result is a broad collection of images, covering the lake in all of the seasons, levels light, and range of activities. A panel of artists from outside Wakefield has reviewed the items submitted and will award ribbons for outstanding quality.  For a short while, these images will live together to document the many scenes, elements, and perspectives of Lake Quannapowitt that local people share.
