Bricks-by-the-Lake – 2014 Order Deadline is March 15.

Since its construction in 2008, the Flagpole Plaza at Col Connelly Park has been collecting names of people whose lives have been connected with Lake Quannapowitt and Wakefield. On any given day, one can see lake-walkers stopping and reading the names and little messages inscripted on the engraved bricks surrounding the flagpole at the head of the lake in Col. Connelly Park. It is small timepiece for the present generation. Consider if you would like to include your own message or memorial. The circle is now about two-thirds full. On March 15, the order list for this year’s installation will be finalized and submitted to the engraver.

Bricks by the Lake is authorized by the Board of Selectmen and administered by the Friends of Lake Quannapowitt.   Proceeds from brick sales are used for betterments of lakeside parklands. New bricks are installed annually in the late spring.
