Music And Christmas Activities In Wakefield This Weekend

A look at what's coming up in and around Wakefield.

Today is Friday, December 13. Here are five things worth knowing today.

This Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. at First Parish Congregational Church, it’s the Wakefield Community Messiah Sing, with portions of Handel’s Messiah by professional soloists and a 15-piece chamber orchestra. Free will offering, with a reception after the sing.

Coming up Saturday, Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m. at the Americal Civic Center, the Wakefield Choral Society and the Middlesex Concert Band present a holiday pops concert with choral and band music. Reserved tables for 8 and 10 are available, as well as unreserved seats for $15 each. Click here for more.

Coming up on Sunday, December 15 at the Americal Civic Center at 3 p.m., the Middlesex Concert Band presents “Carols and Cookies,” featuring the First Baptist Church of Wakefield Handbell Choir and singer Susan Lunt. Click here for more information, including ticket prices.

There’s a CD release party coming up on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 8 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Church on Main Street for Kerri Powers and Kevin G. Moore, of Wakefield. The two are performing as part of the ongoing Linden Tree Coffeehouse series. Click here to learn more.
