Health Dept. Announces Upcoming Flu Clinics

A look at what's coming up in and around Wakefield.

Today is Wednesday, September 11. Here are five things worth knowing today.

The health department will hold a seasonal flu clinic on Tuesday, October 1 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the West Side Social Club, 4 Harrington Court. Other upcoming clinics in Wakefield are Thursday, October 17 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the McCarthy Senior Center, and Wednesday, October 23 at Galvin Middle School from 7 to 8 p.m. Vaccine is $10 for those without one of the accepted insurances. The Beebe Library’s Books by the Lake group meets Wednesday, September 18th at 7:30 p.m. in the library lecture hall. Topics are When Everything Changed by Gail Collins and Girls Like Us by Sheila Weller.

On Tuesday, September 17 at 11 a.m., certified trainer Lisa O’Loughlin is at the McCarthy Senior Center on 30 Converse Street for a presentation on fall prevention.

The Boys and Girls Club of Stoneham and Wakefield has announced its 11th annual Walk/Run for the Club is Saturday, October 12 at 9 a.m. at Lake Quannapowitt. To learn more or to register, click here.
