Cyber-Bullying Expert Speaks Tuesday At Library

Today is Tuesday, January 7. Here are five things worth knowing today.

The Wakefield Choral Society canceled last night’s open rehearsal at Wakefield High School because of icy road conditions. However, there’s others coming up on January 13 and 20 – and both are open to new members. Click here to learn more.  

Coming up on Tuesday, January 7 at 7 p.m., the Beebe Library welcomes Jayne Hitchcock, an expert on cyber-bullying and cyber-crime, for a talk about online safety. Register at this link.

On Saturday, January 18 at 8 p.m., Betty’s Bounce, playing music in the style of Django Reinhardt, plays at Temple Emmanuel, 120 Chestnut Street in Wakefield. Tickets at the door $15 for adults, $10 for under 13. 

Local nonprofit group BKP is seeking donated children’s books to send to libraries damaged by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. If you have any books you can donate, they will be at Centre Congregational Church at 5 Summer Street in Lynnfield on Saturday, January 11 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. For more information, click here
