Arts On Albion and Pumpkin Display Among Upcoming Events

A look at what's coming up in and around Wakefield.

Today is Thursday, October 10. Here are five things worth knowing today.

The annual carved pumpkin display on the library steps and Fright Night festivities in downtown Wakefield take place Thursday, October 24 starting at 6 p.m.

Also coming up this month, the library participates in Wakefield’s Civility Week with a presentation by Megan McNeil of Historic New England on etiquette in history. Tuesday, October 22, 7 p.m. at the Beebe Library.

Superintendent of Schools Dr. Stephen Zrike continues his walks with community members around Lake Quannapowitt today from 10 to 11:30 a.m. His remaining scheduled walks are Thursday, October 17 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. and Thursday, October 24 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Are you a past Wakefield High School field hockey player? The alumni game is this Saturday at Beasley Field at 1 p.m., $10 cost and shin pads, red socks and mouth guards are required.
