Annual Walk for Hope for ALS Coming Up In Less Than Two Weeks

There’s a house hazardous materials collection day on Saturday, September 21 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Wakefield High School. Reading and Wakefield residents only – bring driver’s license. No commercial waste. Call the Wakefield DPW at 781-246-6301 for more information.

The 12th annual Walk of Hope for ALS is coming up on Saturday, September 7 around Lake Quannapowitt. Registration is 9 a.m., and the walk is at 11 a.m. To learn more about this event, click here.

Laurie’s 9:09 restaurant on 33 Tuttle Street reports that it will participate in North of Boston Wine Week Sunday, September 8 through Sunday, September 15 (closed Monday). Guests can choose glasses of wine specially paired to go with any appetizer on the menu. Reservations recommended – Call 781-246-1909.

Honeydew Donuts, which has two locations in Wakefield, reports on its website that it will open its new location at 386 Main Street in the downtown area in late September.
