Pet Adoptions: Local pet adoption group PAWS will be at the PetSmart on Route 114 in Danvers on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a number of cats in need of a good new home.

Local nonprofit group BKP, which sends donated children’s books to library in the Phillippines, is holding its annual Dinner Dance on Saturday, October 19 from 6:30 to 11 p.m. at the Wakefield Elks Lodge, 63 Bay State Road. Community Art Show: The Friends of Lake Quannapowitt are holding a community art show later this fall at the Americal Civic Center. The show opens Nov. 8 and members of the community are invited to submit a variety of media. Click here for complete information.
