No A/C Solution? Try Ductless Mini Splits!

A new post on a great air conditioning alternative, that requires little space and is extremely efficient!

Day by day summer is approaching and that means that hot summer days are right around the corner. Have any worries about your A/C?  Do you have any solutions in mind? Why don’t you try a Ductless Mini Split! Let’s take a look at the benefits of owning this energy efficient system.

What is a Ductless Mini Split?

Ductless is a smart way to add air conditioning to a limited number of multiple rooms without having to open up walls to install ductwork—as you would with a central-air system—or install and remove multiple window units each year.

Ductless systems have an exterior condenser and an indoor evaporator unit that houses the cooling coil, a fan, and controls, to which you can add indoor blowers. (The condenser and the evaporator blowers are connected by electric wires and tubing, through which the refrigerant circulates.) Each evaporator blower is mounted high on the interior wall of the room or area you want to cool. You control the units with a remote control. Since you might have multiple units, you can save energy by zone cooling your home.

Quiet Operation Ductless air conditioners are comprised of an indoor and outdoor unit, which allows for a peaceful inside environment by enabling the contractor to install louder components like compressors and motors outdoors.

Easy Installation Copper tubing running through a small 3 to 4-inch opening in the wall or ceiling easily connects the indoor and outdoor units. Refrigerant is cycled through the lines from the outdoor condensing unit to the indoor unit, where the air is quietly distributed to the interior space.

Energy Efficient Because there are no ducts, the system loses less than 5% cooling vs. up to 40% for traditional forced-air systems. Owning this system means lower utility bills. Several models are even Energy Star Qualified, meaning they save you on your utility bill.

Individual Zoning Why pay to heat or cool areas that no one is occupying? Individual zoning allows you to heat or cool the areas you want, and not the areas that are unoccupied.

Environmentally Friendly Some systems use a certain refrigerant designed to prevent the depletion of the ozone layer.

Safe and Secure Using window a/c makes it very easy for intruders to enter your home. A ductless mini split unit mounts high on a wall, away from the window, providing you with improved security and a pleasant view.
