A Little More Information About Oil to Gas Conversions

Some more information about oil to gas conversions including rebate information for Wakefield and Lynnfield

Converting your home heating system is now more easy and affordable than ever. With winter coming to an end, towns will shortly begin getting gas service to new customers. Getting a conversion now means that when winter comes again, you will not have to worry about the high cost of oil heat, and you will be saving energy. Both Lynnfield and Wakefield offer energy rebate programs for customers looking to convert to natural gas.

In Wakefield, WMGLD customers are eligible for up to a $300 credit on their energy bill when they improve energy efficiency in their homes. Improvements eligible for this rebate include oil to gas conversions, energy efficient lighting fixtures, attic or bathroom ventilation, weather-stripping windows or doors, window or door replacement, and attic, rim joint, wall, pipe or basement insulation. In order to qualify for this rebate, you must first have an energy audit done on your home. After the audit is complete, customers receive a report and can choose to make recommended changes.  When the changes are made, customers submit their receipts and a copy of the energy audit report to WMGLD for the credit on their bill. More information about the WMGLD energy incentive program can be found here:
