Put your biodegradable paper bags or barrels full of yardwaste and leaves on your curb by 7 a.m. that Saturday for the city to pick them up. Make sure everything is tied shut and that branches are no longer than 3 feet in length and 16 inches in diameter. No plastic bags are allowed.

The Public Works Department is located within the William J. Lee Memorial Town Hall building in Wakefield center. The department maintains public parks, grounds, cemeteries, trees, sewers, town buildings and town vehicles. It also operates the town's trash, recycling, street sweeping and snow and ice removal programs. Richard Stinson serves as the director of the Wakefield Public Works Department.
