patching...
Welcome back, Patch Blogger!

About this column:

Wakefield Patch will run a photo taken somewhere in town and invite readers to guess where it's from.
So is it just me or is that "YMCA" song going to be stuck in my head all morning now? Either way, this local historical marker can be seen somewhere in town. Do you know where this was taken?
There's at least one other place in town where you can spot one of these characters. Do you know where this one happens to be? Answer in the comments box below!
How's this for a real estate of the week feature? Just kidding of course. This structure could be considered somewhat off the beaten path - but only by a matter of yards you might say. Either way - do you know where in Wakefield this thing is?
Here's a character in Wakefield we've all probably driven or walked past on a number of occasions. That said, do you know where this picture was taken? Answer in the comments box below!
In the classic 1933 movie "Duck Soup," Groucho Marx uttered the line "In fact, I'm not sure I'm seeing you now; it must be something I ate." But that's not the case here. There's a spot where you can spot one or two of these interesting characters. That said - Do you know where this was taken?
Well, at least if this one turns out to be too easy for everybody, at least we got a fairly cool picture out of it. This rendition of Old Glory can be found somewhere well-traveled in Wakefield. Do you know where this is?
This week's image might be a little too easy, given the fairly well-known location lurking behind the zoom lens. But let's give it a try - who knows where in Wakefield this image was taken?
Some say that on a dark moonless night, this thing can be spotted rising from its perch and... Oh wait... Wrong holiday. I'd better just get right to it - Do you know where in Wakefield this is? Answer in the comment box below!
The one thing I know about this picture is that it does not show any business. Hopefully that's not too much of a hint. Do you know where this was taken? Answer in the comments box below!
Local residents may have spotted this character around town in recent days. But do you know where in town you can find him? Post your answer in the comments box below!
For centuries, people in Scandinavian and Celtic countries have known that you don't mess with "The Wee Folk." To this day, builders in those countries have been known to plan buildings and roads around the trees these supernatural beings are thought to inhabit. Judging from this photo, there's a chance that one of those trees might actually be right in Wakefield. And if that is the case - we can only hope that the town fixes that masonry before the inevitable begins to unfold. With that offbeat Pre-St. Patrick's Day interlude - Do you know where this thing is?
Who knows where in town this character can be found? Something tells me this one might be a bit on the easy side, but we'll see - do you know where this was taken?
Somewhere in an old photo album, I've got a picture of a statue very much like this one taken in the famous Lafayette Cemetery in the Garden District of New Orleans. At first glance, this picture looks a lot like it was probably taken at one of the churches in town. But, you never know. Do you know where this was taken? Answer in the comments box below!
If there's one lesson we can draw from this clock, it's that "It's always pizza time somewhere." But perhaps I've said too much already. Sure, there's a ton of places in Wakefield where this could be, and you're probably running through some of the usual suspects right now. With that - do you know where this was taken? Answer in the comments box below!
A while ago, there was some talk in Washington D.C. about creating a trillion-dollar coin to help deal with the national deficit. Neither the coin nor the deficit have really gotten anywhere since then. That said, Wakefield has its own hedge against fiscal insolvency - the world's largest quarter. Chances are more than one family on an East Coast road trip has pulled into town to check it out. Heck, I once even drove through a town in Saskatchewan that billed itself as the home of the world's largest bicycle. Thing is, if anybody asks me, I'm not sure if I'll be able to remember how to get to…
This week, we've got an image that includes some well-known Wakefield landmarks in it. Thing is, I must have turned down a side street somewhere. I can't quite remember where this - do you know where this was taken?
So I was somewhere in Wakefield the other morning and I came across these folks. Thing is, I can't quite remember where. Maybe it was all even just a dream or perhaps I made "A Stop At Willoughby" via the Twilight Zone that morning but came back to tell about it, complete with photos. But something tells me that wasn't the case. With that - do you know where this was taken?
This image was definitely taken during a different time of the year, judging from all this vegetation. That said, things don't necessarily look that different from month to month at this particular spot. Do you know where this was taken? Answer in the comments box below!
I'm not sure how this guy's table manners are, but I can assure you that I ate about as heartily as he appears to be eating the night this photo was taken. That said - do you know where in Wakefield this happens to be? Answer in the comments box below!
If you live in Wakefield, there's an excellent chance you've walked past this painting more than once. That said, sometimes we don't always remember those places we see all the time. Do you know where this was taken? Answer in the comments box below!
