2013 Festival by the Lake Offers Day of Fun Activities

This year's Festival by the Lake is Saturday, June 8 on Wakefield's Lower Common. Arts and crafts, music, food, kids area, and more.

The following was provided by the Wakefield Center Neighborhood Association: The Wakefield Center Neighborhood Association will hold its annual Festival by the Lake on Saturday, June 8, from 10am to 4pm on Wakefield’s Lower Common. In case of rain, the Festival will be postponed to Saturday, June 15. The Festival by the Lake promises to be one of the highlights of the Wakefield summer season. With an expected 120 talented artists and crafters exhibiting, numerous local non-profit organizations in attendance, live music from the historic bandstand, delicious food, and 50/50 raffles, it promises to be a memorable day. Ronny Cox Wraps Up Linden Tree Season

Singer/Songwriter's movie credits include "Deliverance," "Total Recall" and "Robocop." Performs in Wakefield Saturday night, 8 p.m. at UU Church downtown.

The Linden Tree Coffeehouse’s 28th season finale will feature an encore visit from singer songwriter and actor Ronny Cox.  The concert will begin at 8:00 pm in the social hall of the Unitarian-Universalist Church, 326 Main St. Wakefield. Ronny brings his extraordinarily view of life into a magnetic, likeable, onstage persona. Big Band Bringing Esquivel's Sounds to Wakefield

Mr. Ho’s Orchestrotica is the only big band in the world featuring the music of Juan Garcia Esquivel - April 27th at Unitarian Universalist Church downtown.

The following was provided by the Standing Room Only concert series: The Standing Room Only season finale features the only big band in the world that perfectly recreates the unforgettable music of Juan Garcia Esquivel. A hit on the main stage at the most recent Montreal Jazz Festival, Mr. Ho’s Orchestrotica comes to Wakefield for their only Boston area performance of the year on Saturday, April 27 at 7:30. Comedy Musical 'Lucky Stiff' Opens Tonight in Wakefield

The following was provided by Wakefield Repertory Theatre: Wakefield Repertory Theatre’s production of Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty’s “Lucky Stiff” opens next Friday, April 12.  In this fast paced musical farce, English shoe salesman Harry Witherspoon finds out that Anthony Hendon, an uncle that he never met, has left him six million dollars. However, in order to receive the estate, Harry must take the corpse of his Uncle Anthony, who is sitting in a wheelchair and has been dressed to appear alive, on an all-expenses paid "vacation" to Monte Carlo, and fulfill the tasks specified by his uncle's will. VIDEO: Krystn Cinelli Sings the National Anthem

This week, the resurgent Red Sox kicked off their first home stand of 2013. Last year at this time, a Wakefield resident helped start the season with the National Anthem.

The Red Sox had their 2013 home opener on Monday and beat the Baltimore Orioles, 3-1. In the spirit of Opening Day and what seems to be a good start for the season, here's a Youtube video showing Krystn Cinelli, owner of Miss Krystn's Dance Studio, singing the National Anthem at Fenway Park back on Opening Day 2012.
