Youth Skating: The Wakefield Youth Skating Association has announced that online registration is now open for its Sunday Learn To Skate program. The 15 week clinic begins Nov. 25 and ends March 17, and the 60-minute sessions take place at Hockeytown on Route 1 in Saugus. Cost is $175 per skater. Breast Cancer Fundraiser: Dina Metrano of Pumps – Real Fitness For Women reports that the business is holding its second Zumba Dance Party for Breast Cancer Research on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. The event is open to members and non-members and a $10 donation is requested.
Friends Of Pleasure Island: This Sunday, Oct. 14 at 10 a.m. , Friends of Pleasure Island President Bob McLaughlin leads a free walking tour of the site of the former amusement park, where the office park presently stands. The event is open to the public and does not require reservations. Participants meet in the first parking lot on the left after entering Edgewater Office Park.
Chamber of Commerce Event: Tonight at the new Clarion Inn (formerly the Lord Wakefield) at 595 North Ave., the Wakefield Chamber of Commerce is holding a special after hours event with Town Administrator Steve Maio, who will speak on economic and business vitality. Click here for more information.
