Social Media Made Simple: This morning from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., the Wakefield Chamber of Commerce presents a free business ed workshop entitled “Social Media Made Simple” at the Americal Civic Center. Stop by and meet Robyn Mather, founder and chief social brand builder for A Social State Of Mind. She is also the authorized local expert for Constant Contact. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. for coffee and networking.
VIN Etching: The Wakefield Police are offering Vehicle Identification Number etching to lower the risk of car thefts, this Saturday, Nov. 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the town’s DPW garage. Click here for more information.
Warm Clothing Drive: The Linden Tree Coffeehouse has announced that it will collect donations of warm clothing, such as boots, hats, sweaters, jackets, etc., at its December and January concerts at the Unitarian-Universalist Church on 326 Main Street. Electronics Recycling/Bike Donations Sought: This Saturday, they’re having an electronics recycling day at St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Ave., from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can get rid of monitors, computer games, stereo equipment, TV sets and more. Click here for information.
That said, there’s another thing to note about this event – if you have an older/newer bicycle that you are able to donate, St. Florence’s is seeking them during the electronics recycling drive to be shipped to people in need in Ghana, West Africa.
Wakefield Little League: The organization reports that it is expanding with a new Senior Division for ages 13 to 15. Online registration for all players – aged 5 to 15 – will begin on Nov. 20 at wakefieldlittleleague.org.
