POLL: How do YOU Celebrate Valentine's Day?

Is it true that everyone expects flowers, candy and dinner on February 14 every year?

The most romantic day of the year is upon us. At least according to tradition.

Wakefield Patch wants to know how Wakefield residents plan to celebrate Valentine's Day, if at all.

Do you treat Valentine's Day as a romantic escape for you and your partner, complete with candle-lit dining, chocolates and flowers?

Or, do you think the holiday is more of a marketing ploy: a fabricated affair created by greeting card companies that shouldn't be a test for how much you love your signifigant other?

Take the poll below and let us know in the comment section what you will be doing for Valentine's Day 2012.

Valentines Day is nothing special in our house. I never have been a fan of it. It is what you a said a Holiday ploy. My husband loves me as much on Feb 14th as he does on any other day, so why should he be expected to go out and buy me flowers that at 5x more expenive then they would be another day or go out to an a dinner that is overpriced and overrated. My kids are school age so they do exchange valentines with their classmates, but we do not do anything in the house for them. Since we don't celebrate it hopefully my daughter grows up she won't expect the man in her life to feel like he needs to buy her something special for valetines day and that when my son grows up he finds a girl that doesn't expect anything special on valentines day.
