What: Quannapowitt Players will stage Arthur Miller’s Tony Award-winning play.

Why: If you like taking in a nice evening of tunes.

Name: Girls Night: The Musical
What: A part musical, part karaoke show.
When: June 2 through June 19: Thurs. (7:30 pm), Fri. (8 pm), Sat. (4 pm, 8 pm), Sun. (2 pm, 6pm)
Where: Stoneham Theater
Why: Because it's descibed as a "wild and hilarious karaoke night packed with popular numbers you & your friends are sure to recognize and dance up a storm to." Sounds like fun!

Name: Friends Of Beebe Library Members Preview Book Sale
What:
A member's-only night of used book shopping.
When:
June 3, 2011, 6 - 9 p.m.
Where:First Baptist Church, 8 Lafayette St, Wakefield, MA
Why: Get dibs on the best of the donated books. 

Name: Friends of Beebe Library Annual Book Sale
What:
Used book sale.
When:
Saturday, 9 - 2 p.m.
Where:First Baptist Church, 8 Lafayette St, Wakefield, MA
Why: Get some new reads, for a good cause!

Name: Meditation Practice Group - The Sacred Pause
What: A free, open-to-all hour-long meditation session.
When: Sunday, 5 p.m.
Where: Unitarian Universalists Church of Wakefield
Why: You don't need to be a member of the church, practiced in meditation, or commit to anything longer than one session to go. Relax!

Name: WMHS Class of 2011 Graduation
What: The graduation of the 2011 Wakefield Memorial High School seniors.
When:
Saturday, 10:30 a.m.
Where: Wakefield Memorial High School, 60 Farm St, Wakefield, MA
Why: Because they've been in school for the last 12 years. Time to celebrate!

Name: Teddy Bear Check-up Day at Stone Zoo
What:  Zoo staff will be on hand to give your bear a check up and clean bill of health. Later, march through the Zoo in the Teddy Bear Parade.
When:  Saturday, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Where: Stone Zoo, 149 Pond Street, Stoneham, MA
Why: Just $13 gets you an afternoon of family fun, and ensures your little one's teddy bear will live a long, healthy life. 

Name: Civil War Exhibit: "South Reading in the War of the Rebellion"
What: In commemoration of 150th anniversary of the beginning of the Civil War, the Wakefield Historical Society will hold a special exhibit to honor the sacrifice of the men who served and fought in the Civil War.
When:  Sunday, noon - 4 p.m.
Where: West Ward School, 39 Prospect St, Wakefield, MA
Why:  The exhibit will also feature fascinating mementos brought back by soldiers, including buttons hand-wrought in Libby Prison, a bullet that hit one soldier and the pocket watch that saved his life by stopping it, and a funeral card from President Lincoln's funeral cortege, along with many other artifacts. Sounds cool!
