Wakefield's 'Just Desserts' Headed to Reading
The former Wakefield-based cake and pastry retailer will be occupying a new space at the new Calareso's on Main Street.
After 15 years in Wakefield, Just Desserts, purveyors of fine European cakes and pastries is headed to Reading.
Pullo shuttered her Wakefield (291 Albion St.) storefront on Dec. 31, and is eager to continue providing the delectable delights Just Desserts has become known from the brand new space at Calareso’s. The store has developed a loyal following, who, according to a press release announcing the merge, have expressed excitement about the merge.
“People are pressed for time and value convenience. They also value affordable quality products and with this merge we’ll be able to offer our quality products conveniently,” said Pullo in a statement regarding the merge.
The move is a strategic one, and it is hoped that it will support and enhance Just Desserts’ business growth without a lot of the financial stress most businesses experience. The new location is on busy Route 28, just off the highway.
As Pullo explains, given the numerous challenges faced by small business owners, when the opportunity to move to such a highly visible location and, at the same time, lower her overhead costs presented itself, she simply couldn’t say no.
“With the lower overhead costs, we’ll price our products more competitively and with the opportunity to cross promote our products, this will be a win-win,” stated Pullo. “We’re excited for the chance to be part of a great family business and look forward to developing new relationships.”
Just Desserts will still offer their special occasion and holiday cakes their customers faithfully order, and they’re curious to see what other business requests will develop with their new customer base.
Calareso’s is anticipated to open in early spring of 2012.
