Vandal Damages Car With Pumpkin

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service on Thursday, October 18th.
At 7:55 a.m., a caller reported a hit and run accident at Pleasant Street and Salem Street.
At 9:16 a.m., a man reported that somebody during the night had smashed a pumpkin against the back of his car on Meriam Street, damaging the tail light.
At 11:50 a.m., a caller reported that the owner of a business on New Salem Street had blocked his vehicle in and was not letting him leave. The matter was resolved.
At 12:10 p.m., an accident with no injury occurred on New Salem Street.
At 1:12 p.m., a woman reported that a man driving a black pickup had pulled up at her door and asked in an aggressive manner if he could take some items from a pile in her driveway.
At 2:31 p.m., a caller reported that a grey Ford Taurus was driving up and down Wiley Street picking people up and dropping them off. Police found some small glassine bags on the street but could not be sure the two were related.
At 3:13 p.m., a caller reported that two suspicious individuals, a male and a female, appeared to be looking into homes’ garages on the tracks near Myrtle Ave. Officers responded with a K9 unit. The two were apparently looking for scrap metal and were sent on their way.
At 5:27 p.m., a minor accident was reported at Vernon Street and New Salem Street.
At 7:01 p.m., police responded to a family argument on Bennett Street.
At 9:46 p.m., police arrested James G. Mamos Jr., 42, 580 New Salem Street, Wakefield, on a warrant from the probation department.
At 10:31 p.m., police took a report involving a hacked computer system.
At 11:13 p.m., a woman reported receiving harassing texts and email messages.
