PATCH PICKS FOR THIS WEEKEND
When/Where: Saturday, Feb. 26, 7-11 p.m., at the Americal Civic Center, 467 Main St., Wakefield.
Why Go: It's fun, different, challenging, exciting and all of the proceeds from the event go directly to Citizen’s Scholarship Foundation of Wakefield to be given as scholarships in June. Teams consist of four players who can be sponsored by a business, community or school organization or simply groups of friends and family can get together to form a team.
Price: $100 per team; spectators pay no admission fee.
2. Burbank YMCA Renovation Celebration And Open House
When/Where: Saturday, Feb. 26, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., at the Burbank YMCA, 36 Arthur B Lord Drive, Reading.
Why Go: Celebrate 3 years of YMCA’s renovated Health and Wellness Center and the opening of the new Hot Yoga Studio. Enjoy sample classes, membership promotions, giveaways, children’s activities and more. Sign up at the welcome center desk.
Price: Free and open to members and non-members.
3. Open gym night for families
When/Where: Sunday, Feb. 27, 4-6 p.m., at the Field House of the Reading Memorial High School, 62 Oakland Road, Reading.
Why Go: Reading officials are holding two gym nights at the Field House for families to come down and burn off some energy.
Price: Free.
When/Where: Weekly on Sundays and Wednesdays, 8:15 p.m., at the Lord Wakefield Hotel, 595 North Ave., Wakefield.
Why Go: Blow off some steam with food, drinks and plenty of music. Come to participate or just enjoy others making fools out of themselves.
Pricing: No cover charge.
5. Sunday brunch with entertainment
When/Where: Weekly on Sundays, 10:30 a.m.-3 p.m., at the Fat Cactus, 215 Broadway, Lynnfield.
Why Go: Enjoy the last day of the weekend with a delicious brunch and live entertainment by Kokomo Joe Fielding.
Pricing: No cover charge.
