Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Arrest

Wakefield Police responded to these and other calls for service between Friday, March 1st and Sunday, March 3rd.
On Friday, March 1st at 8:36 a.m., a DPW reported finding a hypodermic needle on North Ave.
At 9:26 a.m. police took a walk-in harassment report.
At 10:22 a.m. the fire department responded to an alarm on Albion Street caused by an item on the stove.
At 11:02 a.m. police took a walk-in harassment report.
At 1:50 p.m. police took a report involving a dispute with a contractor on Drury Lane.
At 2:16 p.m. a minor accident was reported on Old Nahant Road.
At 5:11 p.m. a woman on Salem Street reported a possible attempted break-in.
At 6:53 p.m. police were informed that a truck had taken down wires on Chestnut Street and Emerson Street.
At 7:11 p.m., an officer conducted a motor vehicle stop near Water Street and Wiley Street. Soon after, police arrested Roger L. Hiscock, 40, 440 North Ave., Haverhill, and charged him with speed greater than reasonable and proper, operating a motor vehicle with license revoked as a habitual traffic offender, and possession of a class D drug with intent to distribute.
At 7:43 p.m. a woman reported stolen jewelry.
At 8:50 p.m. a domestic disturbance was reported near Salem Street and Lowell Street.
At 9:01 p.m. a hit and run accident with no injury was reported near Montrose Ave.
On Saturday, March 2 at 5:49 a.m. police issued a summons to a 29 year old Wakefield man and charged him with operating an uninsured motor vehicle and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
At 6:11 a.m. an accident was reported near Broadway and Sylvan Ave.
At 3:39 p.m. a caller on Franklin Street reported past vandalism to a motor vehicle. Police issued a summons to a 46 year old Wakefield man charging him with malicious damage to a motor vehicle.
At 5:42 p.m. police took a report from Somerville involve Facebook harassment from a resident of Wakefield.
At 7:11 p.m. a gas station attendant on North Ave. informed police that a customer’s credit card had been declined for a $68 purchase. The owner apparently returned with payment.
At 8:54 p.m. a caller reported multiple dogs barking for hours on Nahant Street. An officer found one barking dog, which was brought inside.
On Sunday, March 3 at 12:06 a.m. a caller reported a hit and run accident on Main Street and provided a license plate number and description. Police issued a summons to a 23 year old Woburn man for leaving the scene of property damage.
At 1:35 a.m. a hit and run accident was reported on Arundel Ave.
At 10:54 a.m. the fire department assisted a Pleasant Street resident locked out of her home.
At 11:12 a.m. police issued a summons to a 25 year old Lynn woman for operating with a revoked/suspended registration and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
At 11:52 a.m. a restraining order violation was reported.
At 1:22 p.m. a man reported that changed had been taken from his home.
At 4:44 p.m. a man reported being the victim of a wire transfer scam.
At 7:13 p.m. a shoplifting case was reported at CVS on Main Street. Police issued a summons to a 26 year old Methuen woman for shoplifting by asportation, 3rd offense.
At 8:20 p.m. police issued a summons to a 24 year old Arlington man for operating with a suspended/revoked license.
At 9:02 p.m. an erratic operator was reported near Water Street. The vehicle was not located.
