April 2012 Town Election Tracker: Official Ballot Released

A look at who is running for office in Wakefield. Last updated on March 27, 2012.

 

Wakefield's 2012 election season officially kicked off January 3, 2012, when Town Clerk Mary Galvin opened the nomination period.

Three incumbents—School Committee member Anthony Guardia, School Committee member Cheryl Ford, and Board of Selectman member Albert Turco—have declared they will not be seeking re-election.

Five candidates, Brian Falvey, Paul DiNocco, Phyllis Hull, Phillip Renzullo, and Greg Liakos, are running for two spots on the Board of Selectmen.

Three candidates, Janine Cook, Katherine Day Morgan, and John Bengtson, are running for two spots on the School Committee.

Below is the most up-to-date information on who's running and who's not in Wakefield's 2012 town election on April 24, 2012. Incumbents are marked with an asterisk.

Nomination papers were due on March 20, according to the city's election schedule.

    Greg:
    Thought you might like to know that Wakefield has been cheated out of $2.9 million in ch 70 funding since fy 07. That pays for a few teachers. Ask Ms. Clark what she plans to do about that and ask her why her home town gets full funding. Then ask her about ch 70 sect 4.
