Things to Know: WYRT 'The Prince and the Pauper' Tonight and Saturday

Here are a few things worth knowing on Friday August 3, 2012:

Weather: Today will be sunny with a high near 87 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. 

Kid's Activities:  The Wakefield Recreation Department has openings in the following programs for next week (August 6-10): Pretty Pretty Princess, Tennis, Boys Outdoor Bonus, Wicked Cool Lego Engineering (half day program), Explore the Ocean, and Track and Field. To register and see a full list of programs please go to our website www.wakefieldrec.net.  If you have any questions please call 781-246-6389 or email recreation@wakefield.ma.us.

Entertainment: The Wakefield Youth Repatory Theater presents "The Prince and the Pauper" several times throughout the weekend at the Melrose Veterans Memorial Middle School, (350 Lynn Fells Pkwy,Melrose). Orginally a novel by Mark Twain, The Prince and the Pauper is a lively musical adventure. The show is directed by Adam Schuler and Musically Directed by Katrina Faulstich. Children entering grades 5-9 from Melrose, Wakefield, Lynn, Saugus, Reading, Lynnfield, and Winchester will be featured in the musical. The shows will take place on: Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday at 1 p.m. Tickets are $16 for adults and $14 for students, seniors and children. Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.ticketstage.com/WRT and will also be sold at the door. See here for more information. 

Community: On Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wakefield Assembly No. 43 International Order of the Rainbow for Girls is hosting a Yard Sale to raise money for Project Hope, D.E.A.F., Inc.  Tables are available for $20.00.  Many household items, vintage toy rollar coaster, tools, and children items. The sale will be held at the Wakefield-Lynnfield Masonic Lodge, (370 Salem St.) See here for more information.
