Things to Know: Easter Seals Walk, Galvinize at Rotary

A few news tidbits worth knowing today including: community, schools, government and business. There's something for everyone!

 

Here are a few things worth knowing today, Tuesday, May 29, 2012:

Weather: Today, will be mostly cloudy with a high near 75 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. 

Government: In case you missed our live chat with U.S. Rep. John Tierney, we have two options for you: Read the entire transcript here, or you can read a shorter recap of the Q&A with the congressman. 

Community: There were will be a 5k walk to celebrate the mission of Easter Seals around Lake Quannapowitt tomorrow evening. Meet in the Comverse parking lot (100 Quanapowitt Parkway) for registration at 5 p.m. and music by DJ Vinnie O'Connell, then the walk at 6 p.m. then afterwards, snacks, music, and children's activities. It's not too late to join: Show your support for our friends and neighbors living with disabilities in Massachusetts by sponsoring a team or create your own. Find more information here. 

Schools: Tomorrow is an early release day for elementary school students, but not for Wakefield High School or Galvin Middle school students. Elementary school students will be dismissed at 11:55 a.m.

Business: At today's Rotary Club meeting, Michael Scollo of Galvinize Wakefield will speak about the Galvin Middle School Project. The meeting starts at noon at Harrington's.
