Here are a few things worth knowing on Thursday, July 26, 2012:

Weather: Today will be cloudy with a high near 83 degrees and a 60 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.  Some of the storms could produce heavy rain and thunderstorms.

Business: Several Wakefield businesses are open later on Thursday nights during the summer: Avon Beauty Center, Butterfly Yarns, Gone to the Dogs, (who encourages dogs and their humans to attend) J'Adore, Rada Boutique, Silver Clay Gifts, The Queen's Vault and Your IT Solutions will each be open until 8 p.m., and some stores will even have refreshments. 

Community: Tickets are now on sale for the Friday night Festival Italia Dinner Buffet to be held on August 10th from 6 - 10 p.m. Included in the price is a cocktail hour from 6-7 p.m. and an Italian all-you-can eat dinner buffet from 7 - 10:30 p.m. featuring Wakefield's restaurants. Tickets will only be sold in advance (not at the door) and there are a limited number available. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at the Wakefield Daily Item on Albion Street or by emailing wakefieldepc@gmail.com.
