Things to Know: Battle of the Bands Tonight in Boston

A few news tidbits worth knowing today concerning: Arts, Business, Library, and more.

Here are a few things worth knowing on Thursday, June 28, 2012:

Weather: Today will be mostly sunny with a high near 85 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. And with that kicks off a several-day heat wave where we'll see temperatures in the 90s through the weekend.

Arts: TONIGHT: Don't miss Wakefield's own rapper, The President, as he headlines a show at The Harp in Boston. The show starts tonight at 7 p.m. at The Harp (85 Causeway St. in Boston).

The President won Patch's Battle of the Bands contest last month, which entitled him to a headlining gig at The Harp in Boston, a custom-designed event poster from Plymouth graphic designer allisonkathleen, a cut/color at Avanti Hair Salon, a party bus ride around Boston on Bustonian Party Bus and lunch at M.J. O'Connor's

Business: Tonight's the night for yummy cocktails and desserts at Silver Clay Gifts. Stop by from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. to join in on the fun. More info here.

Library: The library recently changed over to new software and a catalog system. Since that might be confusing for some, they are hosting a class to help readers learn to navigate the new systems today at 10 a.m. at the library.
