Police Log: Two Men Accused of Nighttime B&E in Wakefield

At 12:08 a.m. Aug. 30, Wakefield Police responded to Farm Street for a report of a possible breaking and entering. A Wakefield Municipal Gas & Light employee reported a possible breaking and entering at the substation. Domenic Crespo, 42, of 43 Washburn St., Chelsea, and Benjamin Mangham, 42, of 59 Everett St., Boston, were each arrested and charged with one count of nightime breaking and entering into a building for felony destruction of property.

Aug. 30

@8:31 a.m.: Police called to the Main Street and Chestnut Street area for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Police investigated and filed an accident report. No injuries or tows noted in log entry.

@11:33 a.m.: Police responded to Wiley Street on a report of past thefts. Police investigated and filed a report.

@2:37 p.m.: Police called to Salem Street for a report of a larceny. A customer allegedly stole an employee's pocketbook and the incident was caught on camera, according to police. Police investigated and filed a report.

@4:20 p.m.: Police responded to Emerson Street for a report of a motor vehicle crash. A vehicle backed into a wall, according to police. No injuries or tows reported.

@6:31 p.m.: A woman visited the police station to report her father fell victim to a scam. Police investigated and filed a report.

@8:20 p.m.: Police called to the area of Main Street and Yale Avenue on a report of a motor vehicle accident. Both vehicles towed. Police investigated and filed a report.

@9:17 p.m.: Police responded to Water Street for a report of trespassing. The caller reported a large group of kids congregating at Nasella Park, according to police. Police sought summons for a 16-year-old (charges not listed); Dylan Dennis, 18, of 5 Cyrus St. Apt. 4, Wakefield, on charges of trespassing and drug possession of an ounce or less; Luis Menjivar, 25, of 24 Grove St., Wakefield, on charges of trespassing and selling/delivering liquor to a person under 21; and Madelyne Biancuzzo, 17, of 70 Elm St., Melrose, on charges of trespassing and being a person under 21 in possession of intoxicating liquor.

@9:29 p.m.: Police called to Forest Street for a railroad complaint. A car was reportedly stuck on the train tracks with a train coming. Car drove off roadway and onto the tracks, according to police. Wakefied Fire Department and MBTA notified. MBTA shut down trains until car removed. Car towed from the scene. Transit was expected to send someone in to examine track #2. MBTA operated with a speed restriction in place, according to police.
