Police Log: Missing 39-Year-Old Man Reported

Wakefield Police are searching Jose Soto, who went missing on July 6.

Wakefield Police Log for Friday, July 6th to Sunday, July 8, 2012: The following information was supplied by the Wakefield Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Featured item: A 39-year-old man was reported missing on Friday at 2 p.m. and has not yet been located. The man, Jose Soto, is described as a Hispanic male, about 5'8", 150 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He was last seen at his home on Cottage Street. Friday, July 6:
5:14 p.m. - Police responded to a disturbance on Main Street between two neighbors. One neighbor said the other had threatened to shoot him with a pellet gun. However, police determined the other neighbor did not have a pellet gun. The two were advised to stay away from one another.

11:08 p.m. - A caller reported being the victim of a hit-and-run accident on Lowell Street. Police are investigating. 

Saturday, July 7:
12:34 a.m. -
Wakefield Police dispersed a group of youths congregating in the Veteran's Field parking lot on North Avenue.

12:52 a.m. - Wakefield Police issued two citations for marijuana after pulling over a car for driving with a loud exhaust system. 

9:10 p.m. - A caller reported hearing fireworks in the area of Old Nahant Road. However, police were unable to locate the source of the fireworks, and noted they sounded far off as if in a neighboring town. 

9:53 p.m. - Wakefield Police responded to fireworks being set off on Vernon Street. Police located the individuals and asked them to stop. 

11:55 a.m. - Police responded to multiple reports of fireworks in the area of Lowell Street. However, police were unable to locate the source of the fireworks. 

Sunday, July 8: 
8:30 a.m. - An Oak Street resident reported he lost his dog in the area of Oak Street around 10 p.m. on Saturday night. The owner described the dog as a brown Huskie. 

11:53 a.m. - A woman reported to police that her Coach pocket book had been stolen from the lobby area of the Sheraton Colonial Hotel on Audubon Road. The woman said the pocket book contained a Coach wallet, an iPhone, a Nikon Camera, and $100 in cash. Police are investigating. 

3:44 p.m. - A minor car crash was reported on Broadway Street. No injuries were reported. 

8:10 p.m. - Police reported recovering syringes on the ground near the Spaulding Street playground. 

10:18 p.m. - Wakefield Police arrested Anthony Scarpa, 26, of Revere, MA on an oustanding warrant for operating a motor vehicle without a license. Police said they recognized Scarpa while he was driving a Gray Nissan on Nahant Street in Wakefield. 

10:30 p.m. - Police summonsed a Stoneham man for driving with a suspended license in Wakefield. Police said they observed the man driving a red Infinity on North Avenue without its headlights on. Police stopped the vehicle and determined the driver had a suspended license. He will be summonsed out of Malden District Court for a subsequent offense of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and a motor vehicle lights violation. 

Monday, July 9:
12:03 a.m. - A caller reported someone drove by her home on Harrison Avenue and threw three eggs at her house. No serious damage was reported.
