Featured item: Wakefield Police are currently investigating an armed home invasion and stabbing that occured on Tuesday morning at 63 Whittier Rd. in Wakefield. 8:29 a.m. - A homeowner on Collins Road reported that someone vandalized a lamppost on her property. The victim said that sometime overnight, someone knocked the top of her lamppost off. The damage is estimated to be about $100.
10:11 a.m. - Police responded to the Dunkin Donuts on Main Street for a disturbance involving four people. Police asked them to leave the store.
3:42 p.m. - A victim reported that his IBM ThinkPad laptop was stolen out of his car while it was parked on Prospect Street. Police said the car showed no signs of forced entry. The laptop was worth $800.
8:32 p.m. - Police are investigating an assault and battery that allegedly occured at a home in Wakefield. However, police had no further details to release at this time.
9:21 p.m. - Police are investsigating a counterfeit prescription for oxycontin pills at a Main Street pharmacy. However, police had no further details to release at this time.
9:35 p.m. - Police responded to a group of youths that appeared ready to fight, police said. Officers asked the youths to leave the area.
10:21 p.m. - Police responded to a group of about 40 youths on North Avenue who were reportedly causing a disturbance in the area. Police asked the youths to leave.
11:13 p.m. - A 37-year-old man from Wakefield was reported missing. The caller told police he had not been seen at his Bryant Street residence since July 9th. The man was described as 6 feet tall with a medium build with brown hair and brown eyes.
