Wakefield Police Log for Wednesday, July 18, 2012: The following information was supplied by the Wakefield Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Featured item: 
A resident of Park Street reported around noon that someone had fraudulently used his debit card to rack up more than $1,000 in charges. The victim said the card was used three times, once at Belacor for $480, once at One Way Furniture for $459 and once at Pet Car RX for $499. Police are investigating. 

Other incidents: 
1:30 p.m. - A disabled vehicle on Montrose Avenue was towed. 

2:02 p.m. - A caller reported being stuck in a disabled motor vehicle during a flood on North Avenue and Prospect Street. However, when police arrived, the car had left the area. 

2:16 p.m. - A caller reported seeing that manhole covers had been pushed up on Coverse Street exposing holes in the roadway. The DPW was notified. 
2:34 p.m. - A caller reported a tree in front of his Pine Street house had been struck by lightning and was split in half.  

3:38 p.m. - A caller reported his home on Old Colony Drive had been struck by lightning. The Fire Department responded. 

5:57 p.m. - Police on patrol on Albion and Gould Street did a registry check of a 2000 Nissan Maxima and determined the registered owner did not have a valid license. Police summonsedthe driver, a Somerville resident, for driving without a valid license.  

7:50 p.m. - Police responded to a disturbance at the train station. No charges were pressed. 

10:40 a.m. - Police received a report that someone inside a black SUV was throwing water balloons at people walking around the lake. However, police were not able to locate any suspects. 

10:54 p.m. - Police responded to a disturbance on Broadway. No charges were pressed.
