What better way to cool off the kids during the summer without the whole production (and the sand) that comes with heading to the beach?

Hop on 93 South and in 20 minutes (depending on traffic...) you can end up in the heart of Boston, at one of the city's grassiest tourist attractions: The Boston Common Frog Pond.

After you find parking, let your kids loose in the Frog Pond wading and spray pool, which provides a place for free family fun and a cool dip in the summer heat. The pool will be open daily from 11 a.m. - 6 a.m. until Labor Day.

Afterwards, do something that the parents will enjoy - a stroll through Boston Common's Public Garden, and maybe even a swan boat ride.
