Over the weekend, local nonprofit group BKP held its annual Halloween dance at the Elks Club in Wakefield, over on the town line with Lynnfield. Group members meet every month or so at the Centre Congregational Church in Lynnfield and pack and ship boxes of donated children's books to the Philippines, where they are used to stock libraries in impoverished communities. Back in January, Patch did a profile piece that talks more about the group's work. Check it out here

In these two photos, BKP members and their families are seen at Saturday's dance, which also featured food provided by Chef Jacky Robert of Petit Robert Bistro in Boston. Many of the group's members live in the local area. To learn more, visit their website here.  Thanks to Judi Babcock for providing these.

Next book packing for BKP is on Sat. Nov. 10th from 9:30-around 1:30. We will certify students who need to have community service credits and provide a potluck lunch for our volunteers. An easy and fun way to help those trying to improve their lives through reading.
